_______________ Sokol

Listen,

So, Hana is due on September 20th, which is like 2 months away. That kind of makes her sound like a library book. Anyway, when Hana was pregnant with Brady we had his name picked out at like the 20 week mark... here we are with baby-boy-number-two, (as I affectionately call him) just 2 months from birth and we haven't yet come up with a name. There are some we like, and lots and lots we don't.

If you do vote, and I hope you do, please leave a comment on why you like the selected name or why you don't like the other ones. We are also open to suggestions so feel free to post those as well.

Hana requests no biblical names please... apparently she hates the Bible...odd.

Help us blog nation...you are our only hope...

disclaimer: we will not necessarily use the winning name...due to past experience and wise advise we have learned that the public at large (meaning all of you) is not to be trusted.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY do not use anything with a "Mic" in the name, i.e. Mckell, McMicheal, nothing with that sound at all null and void please. Don't name your kid after L.D.S. movies either, or do the Utah County thing with every other name is Ammon, Nephi, but never Korihor? Hmmm... maybe wait until #2 is born and you can see his face and think, sure looks like a Bill or John, or whatever. Maybe the traditional thing, where you take your name as a middle name and your wife's dad as a first name. Unless you can't stand her family. I agree with Hanna about the bible names. Sort of hard to name your kid Hezzakia and not expect him to get his butt kicked in school.

I voted for Paxton. It's my favorite on the list.

I also like the name Cayson or Kayson. I heard that recently and liked it. You may or may not hate it.

I have no problems with any of the names on the list. I like all of them. I guess Crosby makes me think of Crosby Stills and Nash, not really a bad thing if you like classic rock.

Don't take advice from Sunny's mom.

1-Crosbystillsandnash. Can't separate them.

2-Tampaxton. Just say no.

3-Tyson...maybe if you let him grow a mullet.

4-Blake. I cannot think of any negative connotations this has for me. Except, I guess, when I was little this boy named Blake had a crush on me and I thought he was kind of gross.

5-Wilson. Too bad Tom Hanks had to ruin it.

6-I voted for Bryce because it just sounds great with Sokol. Bryce Sokol. See?

Dave,
So let me get this straight...you think the name McMoroni Methusela Sokol is a bad idea?!?!?!?! There goes my first choice...

So I have actually been making a list while I've been a lunchlady this week...how ironic. Can I just simply call you to discuss this or is it vital that I leave a comment?

From the list I like Bryce!

I have been very partial to properly arranges initials, for example Bowl Championship Series for your first born. I favor the initials C.R.S, and since you have an inclanation to last names, how about; (as in Clint Eastwood you could call him Clinton. R is a little harder since your name starts with R already, so a popular R -name over the past year have been Rodham...producing Clinton Rodham Sokol. CRS why can't it work?
Eventual family inheritance is not apt to be that rewarding.
Second try; look at Clifford, your family handymanand add Raymond (everyone loves Raymond) and ther you have another CRS (as well as a fine set of monoprammed glasses.
I always wished that my name was Stan. Add a well-used Sokol male name (uncle George Owen Sokol) and you get SOS. It is easy to prepare and sticksto your ribs.

other good LAST names are BRown, little,Powell, Cruise, DeHaan, Young Taylor, yates, Favre... You are just scratching the surface

I think you should name him Ryan. Or Erastus. Either one. Or you could name him Robert Edward Sokol, and he'd already have a website, bobsokol.com That way he wouldn't have to start his own blog when he comes of age. Anyway, congratulations on the second boy. Diana and I just had our 2nd boy a couple of months ago. I think he's a little easier than the first, or maybe we've just had some practice and don't suck as much. Now that I know where you are I'll keep in touch. You can check out our blog at 1000x
